James Gillespie’s High School

Rankinfraser were appointed in 2010 to develop the landscape design for the new James Gilliespie’s Campus including the design for the new high school, upgrading of the primary school and the construction of a new nursery. The landscape proposals reflect the ambition to create a holistic campus which links and defines the various buildings which occupy the site including the A Listed Bruntsfield House. Within this strong landscape framework a series of more intimate hard and soft spaces are created utilising the site topography to create enclosed social and educational outdoor areas.
